Music is the primal expression common to all races, all generations and all cultures.  It is the sound of the web of life that connects to all beings throughout the Universe.  Something Different celebrates life by making music that honors all traditions, lightens your heart and sets your feet dancing, even if it's only on the inside.

Something Different Concert Fundraiser for Sustain DuPage

The Gathering Lighthouse, 26 N. Park Ave., Lombard

Celebrate the Bountiful Harvest at a Fundraiser for Sustain DuPage featuring Something Different

Something Different is partnering with Sustain DuPage to use their music to give thanks for all that Planet Earth provides. It is the band’s deepest belief that music is a uniting energy and has the power to build community that honors diversity.

Sustain DuPage is a not-for-profit group dedicated to creating a sustainable culture in this county. Sustainability is, “Meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” Sustain DuPage believes that in order to create this the needs of people, the environment, and the economy must all be in balance. They have taken on several projects that meet this criteria including a community garden, restoration of natural habitats and an environmental commission to advise municipal governments on the impacts of their actions. For more information visit

This concert will feature new pieces including guest percussionist, didgeridoo and hang drum player Norby Poffet, the poetry of Maureen Connolly, a song by Jackie Harris, Sustain DuPage member and songs that express gratitude for all that sustains us.
